April 5 - Morning Trade Report

April 5th - Morning Trade Report

I'm Looking forward to a volatile trading month. Discipline is going to be key to my success for the month of April.

For a 3rd day in a row picks on our watch-list did not react as anticipated and again we got stopped out while trading HEAT.  On April 4, we announced our picks for this mornings session. This watch-list was calculated based on the closing prices on April 4, 2012.  This list was compiled by using the closing prices from NASDAQ and the NYSE percentage up and percentage down securities.  We then used a MetaStock filter overlay of volume, share price and percentage increase on average daily volume over a 24 hour period.

HEAT (S) - Got Stopped at the open and flipped sides.
MAGS(S) - Reacted As Planned
THTI (L) - Did Not React As Planned
CBLI (L) - Did Not Get Filled
IDIX (L) - Did Not Get Filled

HEAT faked me out at the open yet again and I took a quick stop loss.  I immediately flipped sides to find a rhythm. Again the differential between the high and the low for the day is going to make this one another fun trade.  Statistically, it is very difficult for a stock to maintain 3 consecutive up days which is why I think we are seeing a negative pull on HEAT today.

UPDATE: At 10:4am HEAT is testing $8.00 again.  Although the overall tone is negative we are being cautious because of the erratic gaps this stock makes.  If it breaks the HOD of 8:13 it can run.

Here is our trade blotter for April 5, 2012 for the mid morning of trading.

Pantheon Traders incorporates a short-term trading strategy we coined the “Controlled Bounce”. This strategy is implemented by executing trades in stocks that have seen a market anomaly in their share price. We have found that historically a 25-30% next day reversal is more often than not the norm on a stock that has been the recipient of either a positive or negative percentage change of more than 11% intra-day. In order for this reversal to be confirmed to trade, the individual issue’s volume must exceed 2(x) average trading volume prior to the market close with a stochastic crossover above 20.00. For this trade, we implemented a leverage ratio of 4:1.This is not an offer to buy or sell securities.  This information is used to track the performance of our own portfolio ONLY and is not to be construed as investment advice. April 4th - Morning Trade Report

April 4th - Morning Trade Report

I'm Looking forward to a volatile trading month. Discipline is going to be key to my success for the month of April.

Oh my...For a second day in a row picks on our watch-list did not react as anticipated and we incurred multiple stop losses.  On April 3, we announced our picks for this mornings session. This watch-list was calculated based on the closing prices on April 3, 2012.  This list was compiled by using the closing prices from NASDAQ and the NYSE percentage up and percentage down securities.  We then used a MetaStock filter overlay of volume, share price and percentage increase on average daily volume over a 24 hour period. When we announced PCBC, we corrected the symbol error to PNBC.

HEAT (S) - Got Stopped twice before finding my rhythm.
MRGE(L) - Reacted Better Then Planned
MITK(L) - Got Stopped out. Flipped sides for a short term profit.
IVN (SL - Did not trade. reset order and did not get filled.

HEAT started down 5% in the pre-market and it looked perfect for quick short and cover.  WOW was I wrong! After getting stopped out twice, I finally flipped sides and began to profit on the erratic swings.  the differential between the LOD and the HOD was so large that once I found my rhythm the potential for profit became much easier. MITK I got stopped out of early and flipped sides in an attempt to recover my losses from the stop.

UPDATE: At 10:11am HEAT is testing news highs at $6.97.

April 2nd Closing Trade Report

April 2nd - Closing Trade Report (Scroll Down For Report)

I'm Looking forward to a volatile trading month. Discipline is going to be key to my success for the month of April.

April 2, 2012 10:15am

On April 1, we Tweeted our picks for this mornings session. This watch-list was calculated based on the closing prices on March 30, 2012.

ARNA(L) - Reacted As Planned
PNBC(S) - Reacted Better Then Planned
GALE (L) - Reacted As Planned
LIZ(S) - Reacted Better Then Planned
SBSA (S) - Got Stopped Out For $1,000.00 Loss (Flipped sides twice to attempt to cover loss.)

SBSA got away from me at the open and I got stopped out of my position for a $1,000.00 loss.  I quickly flipped sided for a long entry at $7.00 per share and almost immediately sold at $7.25 for a quick profit. I then traded the position from the short side from $7.22 to cover at $6:71.

I had an absolute blast trading PNBC today. The stock traded far better than anticipated from the short side which I hope sets the tone for the trading week. Although I am not normally a short trader the set up from the close on Friday was perfect and I could not pass it up.

Again today, we experienced large gaps in price prior to the open which greatly impacted our ability to get filled at the entry prices we targeted.  We have made it a point not to chase stocks and therefore if we did not get filled at our initial price, then we waited for a new entry point to confirm and then if the trade still made sense, we traded the position.

On March 28th we announced our picks for this mornings session. This watch-list was calculated based on the closing prices on March 28, 2012. Below are the individual stocks we announced on Monday. This list was compiled by using the closing prices from NASDAQ and the NYSE percentage up and percentage down securities.  We then used a MetaStock filter overlay of volume, share price and percentage increase on average daily volume over a 24 hour period.

March 12 Trade Report

Not a bad trading day overall.

We are holding a 10,000 share position of ANTH long at $3.51 and 10,000 shares of TZYM at $2.90.  We are holding these two position in anticipation of a "Controlled Bounce" at the open on March 13, 2012. Historically, we have seen 8-11% corrections the following open on stocks that gap down like both of these issues did today. Because of the drastic range in today's session, we will be keeping tight stop losses in place while trading both issues.

On capital exposed of $8,200.00 we grossed $7,400.00 or 90% internally.

Happy Halloween!!

Well today was definitely not a trick but very much a treat.  We played the bounce on NPSP for a very solid intra-day move.  We had a entry target of $4.51 but we got filled at $4.50 with an exit target of $5.26 but because of the stochastic crossover at 1:37pm we staying it and sold it at $5.42.

We will be watching the pre-market closely tomorrow.  Provided there is strength through the close, we will be looking at jumping in again tomorrow for another potential $1.00 gain.
